Developer ThunderSoft came up with the AlbumMe application for all the users out there who want an easy means of creating a beautiful Flash slideshow. Get this application and you can use your own images and music coupled with lots of templates and decorations to come up with a slideshow that you’ll be proud to host on your website or blog or share with others.

The AlbumMe installation file is of 23.3MB, meaning it will take little time to download it, assuming you are on a high-speed internet connection. The setup wizard that shows up when you run the AlbumMe installation file asks you to pick one of four supported languages (English, French, German, and Italian), invites you to select the installation directory, and asks if you want a shortcut on your desktop. Once the installation completes, your default browser will launch and you will be taken to a webpage that thanks you for installing AlbumMe.

The interface presents a list of folders in the pane to the left, and all the projects inside the folder in a pane to the right. To help you get started and to help you better understand what you can achieve with AlbumMe, the developer included some sample projects. The one with images of kids is quite entertaining and a solid example of what kind of slideshow you can achieve by taking advantage of the functionality of AlbumMe.

Creating a new slideshow with AlbumMe is a simple 4-step process.

Step one is to select the images you want to use; you can use more than 500 images for a slideshow if you so desire. You can adjust the brightness and contrast, rotate the images, crop, zoom in and out, and add an effect to the images you select.

Step two is to select one of the many templates included in AlbumMe. To make your job easier, the templates are grouped into categories. At this point you can also select the music tracks you would like to use for your slideshow. WAV, MP3, and WMA formats are supported.

Step three is to decorate your creation with effects, clipart, text, or a funny sound. There are many effects and funny sounds to choose from.

During step four you can preview your creation either in AlbumMe or in your browser and you can choose if you want to save it as an executable, SWF/HTML, screensaver, or video file. You can also choose to share your creation online.

AlbumMe is only free to try. You have 30 days at your disposal to assess the functionality of AlbumMe. Anything you come up with while using the trial version will have a watermark on it.

It truly is a piece of cake to come up with beautiful slideshows using the AlbumMe application.

Pros

AlbumMe provides support for multiple languages. It comes with some sample projects built into it. Creating a slideshow is a simple 4-step process: select images, pick a template, decorate, save. You can save your creation as an executable, screensaver, SWF/HTML, or video file.

Cons

Watermark on output, free to use for 30 days, takes you to a “Thanks for installing” webpage once the installation completes.
